Sustainability Victoria (SV) Boosting Business Productivity Grants news
New materials efficiency grants for manufacturers

The Victorian Government's Boosting Business Productivity program now has a materials efficiency grants component, which is open to manufacturing businesses.

Sustainability Victoria is offering support to manufacturers wanting to find materials efficiency solutions to their waste problems, which will result in more efficient use of materials and less waste sent to landfill.

Grants of up to $13,000 per business are available. Up to $10,000 can be used for expert advice from a materials efficiency assessor. A $3,000 incentive is also on offer for businesses to put in place materials efficiency solutions.

Eligible businesses must have the potential to significantly improve materials efficiency and have less than 200 full time employees.

An assessor will work with each business to tackle the root cause of its waste problem, understand the ‘true cost of waste’ and develop a business case for investing in cost-effective solutions.

Australian Government’s Digital Marketplace
Where government buyers and digital specialists do business.
Do you know a local ICT company interested in doing business with government?

The Digital Marketplace is an initiative under the National Innovation and Science Agenda. The purpose is to make it easier for smaller businesses to compete for the government’s $5 billion a year spend on information and communications technology (ICT) products and services where government buyers and sellers can connect and have the procurement interactions they need — at the level of simplicity or complexity appropriate to their circumstances — and to make the outcomes of those interactions more transparent.

Kororoit Creek Trail opening

Lower Kororoit Creek has been a focus for Toyota Australia for many years.  Together with the Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek and Hobsons Bay City Council, Toyota has worked to highlight the natural beauty of the area. With the end of manufacturing at Altona, Toyota wanted to leave a lasting legacy that would benefit future visitors to this area.

Geoffrey Ricardo’s 'Spirits of Time and Place' was selected from submissions received from artists around Australia.  The work comprises of eight sculptures, which explore the symbols and metaphors of the area. This section of the Kororoit Creek Trail – ‘Toyota Way’- is dedicated to the many Toyota employees who have worked at the Altona manufacturing plant.

Hobsons Bay City Council, Toyota Australia, the Victorian Government and Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek invite you to the opening of the first major section of the Kororoit Creek Trail in Hobsons Bay.
