I help homeowners plan thoughtful renovations, extensions and new homes that are practical, comfortable and designed to last. MOA.studio is my residential architecture practice, based in Spotswood. I’m Matthew Oczkowski, a registered architect working across Hobsons Bay and Melbourne’s inner west. I provide architectural services from early feasibility and concept design through to planning approvals, building permit documentation, builder selection and construction support. Working locally gives me an understanding of established homes, compact sites, heritage and neighbourhood character controls, and the planning considerations common across Spotswood, Newport, Williamstown, Altona and surrounding suburbs. My approach combines careful space planning, reuse of existing buildings, passive design and practical strategies that improve comfort and energy performance. I work closely with homeowners, builders and consultants to make the design and construction process clearer and help clients make informed decisions about design, cost and performance. MOA.studio was a finalist in the 2025 Hobsons Bay Business Awards for Excellence in Sustainability, and I received the 2025 ArchiTeam Passivhaus Scholarship. Community involvement is important to me. As president of the Spotswood Traders Association, I work with other local businesses on initiatives that support Spotswood and its wider community. I also carry this commitment into MOA.studio. Rather than charging for the time I spend with prospective clients during the early stages, I invite them to donate directly to a registered charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.
